For the Barrus reunion we went to the park and had some
fun activities. Alauna's fun activities were mostly crawling around on top of me and anyone else willing to let her. She had tons of fun, as evidenced by the amount of raspberries she was blowing. It was non-stop raspberry-ing and mouth noises all afternoon. Out of all the playground toys at the park the kids only played on the the merry-go-round. My kids haven’t ever been to a park that has one so this was a brand new toy for them. Besides, they really are the coolest playground toy ever. I remember how much I loved playing on them when I was younger. All the cousins would pile on and then th
e older ones would start them spinning. After a while, the younger kids decided that they could do the spinning too. So the little two year olds would try to turn it. Of course it turned very, very slowly! Once lunch was served the kids all left except Natalia who was very intent on this merry-go-round. She kept playing on it and playing on it. This is a very awesome picture as she leaps onto the moving merry-go-round.
Someone got a bunch of disposable
funnels from a gas station and they made a great nose piece. Uncle Brent, Robert, and Greg were the ground support for the rocket launcher and managed to get quite wet! As always the kids had tons of fun! For some reason they really like the fact that something they built/decorated goes up really high and then comes down again – sometimes in an exciting fashion! For instance, Sean’s rocket landed on the roof of the pavilion where we at l
unch. It made lots of noise! Natalia on the other hand, was scared of all the noise. She wouldn't pull the launch string at all because she was too busy trying to cover her ears at the same time. Oddly enough it gets a bit complicated to do anything if your hands are on your ears.
at the farm. The best part was everyone taking a ride on the 4 wheeler. The one toy that Robert really lusts after. And he didn’t even get to drive it
since his arm was still in the sling. Oh, the utter sadness of it all. Then the older boys (David and Dwayne) shot off some fireworks to the extreme excitement of all the younger boys (Brandon, Sean, Kyle, Ben, Kymani, etc).
