Brandon's Grandparents Day Concert

For Grandparent's day this year, the second grade put on a concert for them. Unfortunately, none of Brandon's grandparents were able to come. The kids were really cute. They sang a bunch of songs about grandparents and going to visit grandparents. And then they had some of the grandparents share some memories of when they were in 2nd grade. We got to hear stories about living in Germany right after WWII ended and how school was then and we heard stories about going to the kids' very same school for 2nd grade many many years earlier. After a few more songs each student stood up and said a reason why they loved their grandparents. Brandon said, "I love my grandparents because. . . . . . . . . they give me candy." When it was all over, the kids served their grandparents juice and coookies. It's too bad that none of Brandon's grandparents live close enough to make it; he would really have loved to have you there. And I know that they would have been there if they could.
