Mud pies

Ahhh! Remember the good old days of making mud pies? All of my kids enjoy a nice mud hole. If there is some dirt and the possiblity of water, my kids will make mud every time. Even if they have to go into the house to get the water. Once the water is on the dirt they make sure that they mix it very well. But do they stir it with a stick? Of course not! They use there hands and really get into it. And maybe their feet too if the mud hole is big enough. Once there is a nice consistancy to the mud then it is time for the add ins, like grass, leaves, sticks, flowers, rocks, etc. The finished projects are masterpieces! And after they are all done playing in the mud they get to have even more fun cleaning it off. So you see, mud pies are a 2 for 1 special. The kids get to play in the mud and then play in the water too!
