Brandon has been reading the Book of Mormon throughout this year in preparation for his baptism. The other day while reading with his Dad he came out with one of those tough questions. "Dad, you've told me that the good guys always win. How come in the Book of Mormon it doesn't happen that way?"
A little background to this: when our boys were younger they would (and sometime still do) get scared during movies and we would always tell them that it was okay because in the end the good guys always win. This would calm them down enough to wait and see how everything worked out perfectly in the end. ...... Except in the Book of Mormon apparently.
Robert's answer was that of course the good guys always win. To which Brandon said, "not Mormon and Moroni." Since the Lamanites killed all the Nephites and Mormon and Moroni died, wouldn't that mean the the Lamanites won?

So what did Robert tell him?
He's a smart one...I think that's so great that you're having him read the book of mormon! What a great way to prepare for baptism.
Robert explained that the Nephites at that time were more wicked then the Lamanites, so technically the Lamanites were the good guys. And that even though Mormon and Moroni died, it doesn't mean that they lost because they will be blessed in Heaven way beyond anything they could have on earth.
What a sweet family you have and what a great answer to Brandon's question! Your family will surely be blessed!
I knew there was always hope for you Robert!! hehehe
