Brandon was on a new/old soccer team. Some were from his soccer team 2 years ago and some were brand new teammates. He played on a full size field with a full size net. This is a huge step up for him. His team went the first half of the fall season without a single goal. But, they practiced hard and learned to work together and play hard and scored 1 goal in 2 games. Brandon learned not to pass when he was the one farthest up field and to trust himself to be good enough to score. This was huge because last year there was one really awesome player on his team who never let anyone else control the ball, so Brandon learned to pass as soon as he got it. This year he gained a lot of confidence in his ability to be in control of the ball. Brandon played forward and was a target for other teams to put pressure on. He had a couple of really big hits - 2 boys running full force into each other, audible crash sounds, etc. But Brandon would roll back up and run right back after the ball. On both of the goals that his team made, Brandon had the assists. He had run the ball up the field and this time when the other team converged on him, there was a teammate that was in position to make a goal, so Brandon passed the ball. Brandon has come along way this season and is growing in his skills and confidence. It was a great growing season.
