Sean playing basketball

Sean amazes me sometimes.  He has gotten to play basketball for the first time this year and has really loved it.  The only downside is that he isn't as old as Brandon and so only gets to play one day a week instead of two.  Just as in soccer, he is a scrapper and isn't afraid to get in the mix and get that ball.  He is one hard player.  In this last game he made 5 baskets.  Go Sean!
It wasn't the number of baskets that amazed me, though that was definitely a good job, it was how he treated a teammate.  There is one little girl on his team who is not quite sure what she's doing, she wanders around a bit.  She tries hard though.  At one point in the game, Sean had the ball and she starts guarding him even though they are on the same team.  He goes around her and heads towards the basket to shoot.  Under the basket as he sets up to shoot this little girl is guarding him again.  Sean stops and really looks at her, then he hands her the ball.  The whole game stops.  She takes the ball and dribbles it a few times and then passes it off to another teammate.  At which point the game resumes.
Sean had a clear shot on the basket and he keeps careful track of the score.  He knew that the other team was up by a few points.  But he stopped and took a moment to give a teammate a chance to play.  This little girl is mostly ignored in the game since she doesn't know what she's doing and the boys are pretty intense.  In her last game she finally got the chance to play basketball with the boys.  And she had a big smile on her face.  After that she kept up with the game a little bit better and played a little bit harder.  Today I was proud of my Sean.

Sean has the ball,   #11 at the bottom right is the little girl he helped
